Happy Easter, Little Bunny!!!!

I hope you are jumping with lots of JOY today!

If there ever was a perfect little bunny to become an Easter Bunny, it’s you!

I can’t wait to hear all about Your first Easter as an Easter Bunny!

While I’m waiting for your news, I’ll tell you about my first Easter Sunday as an Easter Bunny.

On that Saturday, I had been so focused on my special gifts for Iris, I had forgotten all about helping get treats ready for the children.  With all the rest of the Easter Bunnies, my parents were working hard to get everything ready.  They let me stay and do what I needed to do with Iris. It actually helped them to have so many of the little bunnies over for the feast at Iris’s burrow.

(For the next few years, this actually became a tradition with Iris. She found a very special way to be an Easter Bunny. She offered a picnic and looked after the young bunnies while the other Easter Bunnies prepared.)

When I returned from Iris’s, I was so sad. It was my big moment to start helping as an Easter Bunny and I had missed it.  Everything was already done.   I went to bed feeling a little sad. But as I was drifting off to sleep all the memories of my time preparing to be an Easter Bunny kept flashing in my mind. So many special moments. And in that place between wakefulness and sleep, I saw Jesus with me in each surprise, each disaster, each smile. And I saw him laugh when Iris flipped over backwards and needed all of us to pile on top of her to get her back up. Perhaps it was a dream, but it was the best dream ever. I smiled in my sleep.

In the morning, I awoke with the dawn. I was so tired, I had fallen asleep in the doorway to our burrow. I looked up at the most beautiful sunrise of my whole life.

The light was so bright, I could barely see. This Easter, I knew that light was just for me.

I was an Easter Bunny. My fur knew it, My heart knew it. My whiskers and tail knew it. And I’d spend the rest of my life letting little children know it too!  I just kept praying, “Thank you Jesus! Thank you for Easter, and for everything!”

I felt pure Easter JOY…and now to share it with each girl and boy!

I jumped the biggest Easter binky of my whole life. I felt like I could hop to Heaven and back!

But enough about me, tell me about you!

Grandpa Bunny

Dear Grandpa Bunny!

This Easter Morning is an incredible day for me! It’s one of those days where nothing has changed, yet everything has changed! I don’t think I can even really describe it. I was up late into the night wondering if something was happening or if nothing was happening. I was sad and lonely. I prayed, “It’s OK Jesus, if I don’t become an Easter Bunny right now. It will happen when you know I’m ready, Lord.” After a while I was at peace about it. I went to the doorway of our burrow and looked out. I had so enjoyed the wonder of the stars and wanted to see them again.

When I looked up, I saw the moon, The biggest brightest full moon in the whole world, even in the dark, it shined so bright I could barely see. It sounds strange but I saw a face on the moon with a warm smile. But, it was so much more than the moon smiling. It was someone who knew me and loved me.  I knew that smile was just for me. My fur tingled all over and I couldn’t stop smiling.  It was the Easter joy I had longed for so much!

I hopped. I hopped again. I felt like I could hop as high as the sky!  God’s love filled my heart! All I wanted to do was share it!

I prayed the prayer I’d said so many times, but now it was different. It meant something more.  “All for you, Jesus!”

Suddenly, down the hillside, I spotted my Mama and Pops Bunnies waving to me. I found a way to join them and we spent the rest of the night hiding Easter surprises for the children everywhere we could go. It was the best night of my life!

Thank you Grandpa Bunny for all your stories and love.

I’m proud to be your grand bunny, and now, thanks to your help… a new Easter Bunny!

Lots of Love,

YOUR Easter Bunny!
