This time of Lent is almost over. I’m excited about all you helped me learn. I love Jesus in ways I never knew I could. So, that’s all good.
But then I’m also really worried. I can’t tell if all that is actually changing anything inside of me.
I’m afraid I’ll never become an Easter Bunny!
You know how we rabbits run from side to side in a zig-zag way sometimes? I think you told me people call it, “jinking”. Well, that’s how I feel on the inside right now. Happy, sad, worried, glad. I’m a big zig-zag inside my heart and there doesn’t feel like it leaves much room for the JOY of Jesus to fill me up.
A Happy & Sad Little Bunny
Dear Little Bunny,
Don’t lose heart! You are almost there! I’ve been hearing so many stories about how you have been so busy hiding love in wonderful ways. You have done so well!
You may not feel like 100% Easter Bunny yet, but I promise you are 99% there now. Remember I said at the beginning of Easter Bunny Training, being an Easter Bunny is something you become? Gradually. And that often our actions need to change before we feel the good feelings about them? Well it’s true.
When I was your age, I felt a lot like you are feeling right now.
During this week, that people call “Holy Week”, I was moping around, sad that I wasn’t really an Easter Bunny yet and it was almost Easter. I didn’t know what else to do. I had learned so much about loving God’s son Jesus…I’d been thankful, prayerful, adoring, and contrite. I considered Jesus my best friend. I kept asking myself, what was I missing?
Is this kind of where you are right now?
Don’t worry, that is a good place to start Holy Week.
Lots of Love,
For the Big bunnies…
Getting our heart right with God is what best prepares us to lovingly serve Him. That’s what these Grandpa Bunny Letters have really been designed to do for little children.
This week’s letters will show little bunnies that we can recognize the Joy of the Lord alive in us as we are drawn to lovingly SERVE others. This group of letters completes the weekly “Bunny Training – All for You Jesus!” acrostic.
T- Showing God our THANKFULNESS.
H- Seeking God’s HELP for ourselves and others.
A – ADORING God. Loving Him without a list.
N – Becoming reNEWed as we seek God’s forgiveness with genuine contrition
K – KNOWing and appreciating our friendship with God as we experience it shared with others.
S – Learning to trust and SERVE God with hearts full of JOY!
When we are continually saying “THANKS!” to God for all His goodness, then all we will want to do is serve Him and do all we can to love everyone else He loves…which is…everyone!
