Bunny nose with dandelion

Dear Little Bunny,

Here’s how “Operation Dandelion” came together.

Rising before dawn the next day, my siblings and I picked every dandelion within a half a mile of our burrow and heaped them all in an enormous pile.  I then sent bunnies out in pairs to hide, drape or place dandelions all around the beds or burrows of each of our friends and neighbors. Our garden was glowing with little tufts of yellow everywhere when the sun came up.

We did it! It was glorious! Teamwork did make amazing things possible.

Our friends loved their surprises. Squirrel made his into a fluffy golden pillow and went back to sleep. Yellow Bird liked how the color made her nest match her feathers and also made a tasty snack. Our neighbors, the chipmunk family, were thrilled. They used them as doorway markers in the rock wall where they tunneled. Often at sunset, when shadows grew long, the chipmunk children lost track of where the doors were and had to have sleepovers with my rabbit family. This would save their parents much worry and searching in the dark.

Grandpa Ben Bunny was so proud of us!! We were so pleased with how well it went. Not even one disaster! (Well, not counting when cousin Bernie Bunny tried to stuff 16 dandelions in his mouth at once and nearly choked.) What a fun week!

If that was what E.B.T. (Easter Bunny Training) was like, I couldn’t wait to become a fully vested Easter Bunny!

How about You? I hope you have filled your week with creative ideas to say “Thanks!” in a special and surprising way.

Is there a way you can plan an extra special surprise for someone with a team of friends or family?

Teamwork does make big things possible!
