Dear  Grandpa Bunny,

Is there a name for the kind of prayer that doesn’t ask God for anything?

Dear Little Bunny,

I think the word that describes it is ADORE.  Adoring God is all about loving Him just for who He is. The way we know Him is the same as how we know anyone, through who they are and what they do.  So, we look at God and adore Him for who He is and how good He does everything.

Dear Grandpa Bunny,

Is it like being good at hopping or good at hiding?

Love, Little Bunny

Dear Little Bunny,

Sort of. But God’s goodness is so much more.  Try this and see how it works for you. Remember how you have been trying to make sacrifices to make room for the JOY! of Jesus to fill your heart?

Praying in a way to adore God is actually a way to bring that JOY! in. Taking time to think about God’s goodness and all the ways it shows is actually a tiny sacrifice of a moment your time that fills you with more excitement about God’s goodness.

You can sit quietly (something we bunnies are very GOOD at) and breathe deep.  Breathe in and think of something wonderful about God. Breathe out thinking, “Good job God!” or “Wow! God you are so good! or “Your love is amazing, God!”

Adoration prayer can be as simple as breathing!

You are Try it! Let me know how it goes!

Just remember: Adoration prayer is simple.  Think of God’s goodness. One, Two…Breathe!
