Dear Little Bunny,

I wasn’t sure if I’d ever get out from under that flower pot!

But I told Lello how I had been praying and she thought it was a good idea. She knew all about praying.

She said, “I learned all about trusting God when I learned to fly. I prayed constantly when I was mostly just falling in those first flights.”

We prayed some more together. God had answered my prayer. He sent my friend to help. But my troubles weren’t over yet!

Later in the afternoon, Lello’s family was bringing my family and more friends to help me. I could hear their voices getting closer and closer. Lello showed them where I was with cheerful tweets and flying twirls.

Then I heard another sound.

It was a low growl.

The animals coming to help me all scattered.

Lello called down from a tree, “It’s the dog, Grimace. He’s headed right for you! Don’t move! Jesus is with you.”

Quietly she prayed, “Jesus save my friend! Help him! Help him to be brave!”

I was under the pot, but stood stone still.

Grimace could smell my scent. He nudged the pot. It scooted a lot! He growled and barked and panted and drooled. He was acting crazy. He was a mean dog. Other dogs were playful and fun. This dog was just angry and mean all the time. I prayed that Jesus would save me from Grimace.

Grimace used his paw to pull on the pot. It tipped up and flipped over HARD on his other paw.

I had my chance. I prayed, “Jesus give me speed!”

I hopped, leapt and ran faster than ever in my life!

Grimace shook his paw, pivoted around and lurched after me. I flew across the field, past the clover, past everything. It was all a blur.  I zigged and zagged,  jinking back and forth until I spotted a burrow.

Grimace was gaining!

I did not know who lived in that hole. I took the chance and dove in, dashing as deep as I could go. Grimace growled and dug at the top but the tunnel was too deep.  He stopped. Slowly he turned… and left.

I was alive! I was safe!  But where was I?
