Dear Grandpa Bunny,

I don’t feel any different yet. Am I becoming an Easter Bunny?

Love and hugs,  Little Bunny

Dear Little Bunny,

It isn’t something that happens all at once. Being an Easter Bunny is something you become. The outside of you won’t change at all.  You will still be you. But the inside of you will be so much more.

When I was young, my Grandpa Ben Bunny told me that the best way to learn to be a great Easter Bunny “giver” of surprises or gifts or whatever, is by learning to be a great “thank-er”!  I wasn’t sure what he meant but I thought I could certainly find ways to say “Thank you!” a lot.

I decided that perhaps becoming an Easter Bunny was like training for a sport. I just needed to practice. And since Easter was all about surprises, I would find surprising ways to say, “Thank you!”

First of all, I ran around the garden where we lived and I jumped and hopped everywhere. People call bunnies doing this: “going BINKY!” Many bunnies bounce BINKY on perfect spring days, but I did it saying thanks to God with each hop for whatever I could see.

“Thank you God,” (leap) “for flowers!”

“Thank you God,” (hop) “for green grass!”

“Thank you God,” (jump) “for the sky!” (land and roll on my back and look up)

You get the idea.  Mamma and Papa Bunny thought I was crazy!

But it was so fun! I was inspired! I wanted to do more. Who else could I say thank you to?

Is there a special way you can go a little binky and say, “Thanks!” to God and everyone?

Love and Binky Bounces,

GP Bunny
